Mini Superdrug Haul

Today I once again returned to the JOYOUS place that is Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre...okay slight exaggeration there. There isn't  too much there, but the M&S is huge and there is a Superdrug next door which has so many make up stands, it would make any cosmetics fan spin!

I was at Hempstead for a recruitment evening at Argos, so thought it would be an ideal time to pick up a few bits. I should add that finances are very low, but two of the items I was in desperate need of! The other two...well we'll have to skip that...EVERYODY HAS WEAK MOMENTS!!!

Firstly, mascara. I am a die hard No. 7 mascara fan. It has been a long time since I bought anything other than that...it must have been Maybelline Great Lash Mascara around 7 years ago. Proof that I clearly do not change my mascara often enough and that I need to try other things. So I decided that I HAD to have a plastic brush as they give a nice effect. Although I wanted to save money (No.7 mascaras are £11.00) I just was not brave enough to spend £3.00 on a mascara that has big bristles and looks cheap too. I really want to try Volume Million Lashes after hearing rave reviews from Miss Budget Beauty, for £11.00 I could just return to Boots and get what I know.

I ended up settling on Barry M Lash Modelling mascara in Black. The tube is so cute and the brush is an interesting shape. For £6.19 I figured that it would  be a fair price to try something new...for £5.00 less than No.7, I'm willing to try.

Next is a Detoxifying Dead Sea Mineral Mask. This wasn't on my list but for 99p I was prepared to try it. My skin needs a break sometimes!

Another thing which wasn't on my need list was this beauty. The MUA Undressed Palette  I have read and watched so many comparisons regarding the Undressed Palette and the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I figured that it was time that I purchased some eye shadows that are slightly more serious than my usual ones! (Normally I wear khaki, purple, gold, smoky greys and smoky blues. Nothing more natural looking!) Once again, Miss Budget Beauty swayed it for me and I just had to have it! It was also reduced to £3.00 this week, so it just slipped into the basket. Whoops...?!

I also bought some other bits that I don't really have to go into on here!

Only a mini haul for today, hopefully I will be employed soon and will be able to get more goodies. What about anyone else out there? Bought any goodies recently?

Freebies of the week! #7

This week. Oh this week...

Such a poor show!

Nothing, nada, kaput!

Only things for me in the post are bank statements and I don't really want those! I signed up for a lot of things this week so hopefully there will be some good stuff soon.

In other news, whilst I was sat in a NHS Drop in Centre today, (got an ear infection but I am registered to the university doctors, dammit) I made a long list of all the different blog posts I can do this week, so new things coming soon, including many favourites from beauty blogs!

*cough* all used up *cough* hauls *cough*  ;)

I don't know what went wrong, I woke up one day and you had gone.
Forever, there's no such thing as forever.
You left a mess, not a note.
You emptied my wallet, and you stole my smokes.
But I'm easy, forgiving you is easy.
I just wanna be with you.

Twitter win...GlossyBox!

I was so damn excited when my phone kept dinging loudly a few weeks ago.

It was people congratulating me because myself and four others won a GlossyBox on their Twitter!

Now I did in fact win a GlossyBox before, in conjunction with Andrex Washlets. It was won in March 2012, but I received a November 2011 box and I wasn't too impressed with the idea of it, including the products inside...

Until I received this beauty!

Look at all these beauties!

Full size Docteur Renaud Apricot BB Cream - 50ml (Worth £25)
Half size Docteur Renaud Raspberry Face & Eyes Cleansing Water - 125ml  (Worth £8)
Sample size Nuxe Body Fondant Shower Gel - 50ml (Worth £2.13)
Sample size Nuxe Huille Prodigieuse Multi Useage Dry Oil - 10ml (Worth £3.50)
Full size Nuxe Creme Fraiche de Beaute - 30ml (Worth £17.50)

Box worth - £56.13

This GlossyBox is STUNNING. Everything looks so grown up! As soon as I opened the packaging and spied the dark taupe coloured box, I knew it was a special one! With two full sized products, I am so impressed.

I have spied some other beauty bloggers that have not been impressed by their Glossy Boxes, but honestly, after this, I am tempted by Glossy Box. Obviously I need a job first though, darn!

Maybe a good place to start would be by trying out these gorgeous products?!

I look around me,
But all I seem to see,
Is people going nowhere,
Expecting sympathy.

It's like we're going through the motions,
Of a scripted destiny,
Tell me where's our inspiration?
If life won't wait,
I guess it's up to me.

Freebies of the week! #6

Here we ago, once again, I'm a bit late!

I thought this week would be lacking, but I am pleasantly surprised by last week's goodies!

Firstly, a pack from a brand called Vichy. They sent two 1.5ml sachets of their Idealia Pro Dark Spot Corrector. This is to target dark spots such as brown, age and sun spots; uneven skin tone; and discolouration. I am really looking forward to trying this, as my skin has been looking uneven for a while now.

On Friday I was in Sainsburys, preparing for my trip to Reading and I decided to get a magazine for the train journeys. I got a copy of Cosmo because it all looked really good this months; the features and the freebies!

Firstly a tiny tube of Oral B toothpaste...can't go too wrong with these. I also got another tube by Colgate a few hours beforehand from the dentist...I seem to have lots  of them now, but they are useful! Also free was a Missguided Lipsplash worth £5.00. I picked the colour Love, which is a pale pink which is quite glittery. It is almost clear when swatched. Wish my camera was better, the pictures do it no justice.

So overall, a fair week of freebies! I'm a very happy bunny!

Freebies of the Week! #5

Well...this post will be a tad...erm...lacking!

There has been no freebies this week! DUN DUN DUUUUUN.

However I did win a GlossyBox on Twitter, so I will do a separate blog post for that! It will be very photo heavy I bet!

I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealing.

Freebies of the Week! #4

This week has been a clear opposite to last weeks haul!

Only one thing free this week, although I am quite chuffed about it and I can't even use it!

Cheeky 15ml bottle...cute!

This is a 15ml bottle of Dove Men+Care Moisturiser Hydrate+, which I got from the Boots website; they regularly release samples of products, which also arrive very quickly.

I'm sure that Jamie will use this, he is a secret fan of moisturising, bless him! It's nice seeing him using products like this, it makes his beard nice and soft! Cute!

This product is on the 3 for 2 offer in Boots and is also £8.99 for 50ml, which makes this sample worth roughly £2.70.

Jamie normally uses L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra Energetic Daily Moisturiser which retails at £8.05 for 50ml in Boots (also 3 for 2) so it will be interesting to see what he thinks of such similar products.

Will keep you all updated!

Is it my imagination?
Or have I finally found something worth living for?
I was looking for some action,
but all I found was cigarettes and alcohol.

Freebies of the week! #3

Well last week wasn't looking very promising...until I went to Bluewater!

Now if you are on O2, it is well worth checking the Priority Moments app regularly, especially when you are in town, as it will come up with deals around you. I got a lot from it on Tuesday!

Firstly, the photo says it all. 4 for free, just for being on O2. Amazing.

Went for Milk chocolate, chocolate orange, chocolate
and toffee and oat & raisin. YUM.

Then we went into the O2 store. Remember a few months ago, people on O2 lost internet signal? (I didn't.) Well everyone received a £10 voucher from O2 to apologise, so Boyfriend and I both got In-Car Suction Holders. Clever little thing, holds any phone! There wasn't really anything else we wanted!

Can't take a picture of my phone in it, as I take the  pictures with my phone!

Now I noticed on the MagicFreebiesUK website that if you bought a copy of The Sunday Telegraph, you could get a free tube of Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish worth £5.50. I've heard about this product on many blogs and heard that it is AMAZING, so I had to get myself a paper. I took my voucher to the John Lewis counter and received this lovely envelope...

Inside was a 30ml tube of the product, a muslin cloth and a card with the instructions for use!

I can't wait to try and review this product, as it has been rated so highly! Will it replace my beloved Dermalogica!?

I thought this was it for the week; then these bad boys arrived!

When I bought a bottle of Southern Comfort from ASDA a few months ago, there was a tag on it, for two free glasses. I thought they'd be little ones, so signed up for them anyway. Technically not a freebie, but I wanted the drink, so I guess they were a bonus. The glasses are nice and tall, with a heavy bottom, perfect for a cheeky SoCo and lemonade! Also in the box was a magnet which is one of those hologram ones, with the measurements for a SoCo & lemonade and a picture of one; a freebie for a freebie!

One of the two glasses

Sorry for awkward angles, holograms aren't easy to photograph!

So I think last week was pretty productive! Very happy bunny I am! (Well, in regard to freebies anyway!)
