Me time

Words are currently failing me.

Night shifts, with a lack of sleep have sent my body into a state of confusion.

To at least soothe my poor sore body, here are the products that I am treating myself with today.

Paul Mitchell Shampoo Two - My favourite shampoo. It deeps cleans and yes, I do use it every day. I NEED TO! ;)

Paul Mitchell Super Strong Daily Conditioner - Aaaaand this is where I replace any lost moisture from my shampoo.

Epsom Salts - We buy in 5kg amounts as these are fab for all our injuries in this house! They relax muscles and soothe aches. A mug's worth in a bath does the trick for achy backs. Half a mug in a bucket for sore feet...

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish sample - Giving this a go to save my Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser for a bit longer

Champneys Spa Indulgence Bubble Heaven - Oh my this smells good. Very relaxing.

Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream - Not sure how good this is compared to other brands actually.

No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Day Cream - Think this will aid my tired face. A lack of sleep and long work shifts are making my skin look awful.

Soap & Glory Righteous Butter - The ultimate treat for me, as I can only use this when my Mum is out! She HATES the smell of S&G products.

All this whilst watching The Great British Bake Off...lovely!

Lynx Attract for Her

"Oh my god, he's like, well fit."

"Oh my god, I know! And he smells like, well nice."

"What does he smell of?"

"Lynx. Smells well nice."

The conversation of my early teenage years.

I'd like to say that I didn't say that, but I probably did!

To be honest, Lynx always smelt like generic teenage boy to me. Even now, I cannot tell them apart.

I wouldn't say it is a bad smell, just smells a bit...blokey?!

When I got this gift set for Christmas last year, I have to admit I was a little skeptical. I mean, it's LYNX. Hardly Chanel No5 eh!?

Well this actually surprised me.

The shower gel smells exactly like you would imagine. Very much like the male scents, but slightly feminine. To be honest, I really like it. I don't enjoy foodie scents and I'm not THAT flowery. The smell doesn't linger on your skin for too long and it foams up nicely.

The body spray smells fab as well.  The scent is nowhere near like the shower gel; more flowery and feminine...kind of what you would expect a decent body spray to smell like. I cannot comment on longevity as I tend to find that I can't smell perfumes after a while anyway!

I am genuinely surprised at how much I enjoy this set! Although I'm sure I haven't had the men all over me like in the advert.

Dermalogica Ultracalming Cleanser

A really sympathetic cleanser! So gentle, you can use it on your eyes. Love it, so good for travel

Would I repurchase? No, it's not the BEST for my skin. It works, but I need something better suited for oil. My Mum has this so I borrow hers if I want some.

Dermalogica Sebum Clearing Masque

Great masque for a good deep cleanse!

Would I repurchase? Possibly

Nivea Pore Refining Day Cream

Nicely moisturing but I don't remember much about it. Will try the others.

Would I repurchase? Need to try my other ones first.

Nivea Express Hydration Primer

I think one sample of this isn't enough to get your head around. Wasn't blown away.

Would I repurchase? Probably not.

Vichy Idealia Pro Deep Corrector

Am using sample number 2 of this now. Review to come

Not much I can say about it as I had exfoliated first, so the mask stung and I took it off straight away! Will try it again another time!

Hair Products

Pantene Pro V 2 min Colour Damage Rescue Masque

I don't have colour damaged hair but I love a hair masque on Tuesdays and this was screaming to be used after I had colour put in my hair. Smells lush and hair feels great after!

Would I repurchase? Potentially, really good product

Misc.

Pocket sized Vaseline

Remember when Vaseline brought these cute pocket versions out? Yeah? I bought this then! Could never get in the bloody thing until recently so I have used it on everything, feet, lips, car keys! (Had a little frozen lock situation.)

Would I repurchase? I have so many of these! Probably not anytime soon!

Lush Party Popper

For Christmas I was given 3 bath bombs from Jamie's sister. I haven't really had much experience with Lush.

I always walked past the shop and thought, "Pwhoaarr that smells strong." So I never went in!

Then when I was at university I won a competition to take me and nine friends to the Lush in Reading, for facemasks, massages and games! It was so much fun!

Seeing the lads with facemasks on was priceless! The masks were a little too strong for my face really, I broke out epically! But after that my skin calmed down and looked good. We used the massage bars too and they were fantastic.

Anyway, I digress...I haven't actually had many Lush products, only Whoosh. So I was interested to try the bombs! (I have never had a bath bomb either, my skin was always too sensitive when I was young.)

Pretty pink and blue cone shape...how cool does this look?! I figured this might be the best one to try as my first bath bomb...glitter would be a bit scary for me at the moment!

This bomb spun around and fizzed, made pretty colours and sure enough, went off like a party popper, releasing soap "confetti." It smells gorgeous too, so much citrus! Lovely! 

As a starter bath bomb, this was perfect for me! Not too scary or flamboyant, gentle fizzes and colours! I think this was a Christmas bomb, so roll on December, I'll be buying more of these!
